Brace your elbows against your torso, use two hands, exhale gently, then press to range. For long flags, start with Scan mode and sweep from background trees onto the flag.
Go to Settings → Units (or long-press the Units button on models with a dedicated key) and select Yards or Meters (or Feet in some models).
Aim just below the flag first, then sweep up through the flag. Maintain the reticle on the flag for ~0.5–1s until you get a lock cue (usually a pulse vibration).
